IIT Bombay Signs MoU with World  Intellectual Property Organization  (WIPO) and Department of  Biotechnology (DBT)

IIT Bombay signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), and IIT Delhi.

The primary objective of this MoU is to promote the advancement of intellectual property (IP) knowledge by integrating IP-related course materials into the Biodesign Program. Additionally, it encompasses the launch of a WIPO-backed Global Health Innovation Fellowship Initiative, which will enable international Fellows to actively participate in the program.

These fellowships are set to be rolled out across several DBT Biodesign Centres situated at IIT Bombay, Hinduja Hospital, Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai, as well as at IIT Delhi and AIIMS in New Delhi. This significant collaboration represents a commendable effort in fostering both intellectual property and public health, underscoring the Institute’s collective commitment to fostering institutional cooperation.
