IIT Bombay, in partnership with HSBC India, organized a full-day workshop focused on Green Hydrogen.
The event is a crucial component of the ongoing collaboration between the Institute and HSBC India, and aims at bolstering a robust, green hydrogen economy by enhancing its efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
The workshop featured engaging breakout sessions covering significant and diverse topics including:
- Hydrogen Storage
- Hydrogen Utilization and Transport
- Hydrogen Generation
Each of these aspects plays a pivotal role in realizing the full potential of green hydrogen.
Dr. Ashish Lele, Director of the National Chemical Laboratory, emphasized the importance of this initiative during his plenary talk, stating, “India imports 350 million tons of carbon in the form of fossil energy. We emit nearly 2.6 GT CO2 from this carbon energy. It is imperative to fuel our economic growth with clean energy and, at the same time, achieve energy security.”
IIT Bombay is immensely appreciative of HSBC India for their steadfast dedication to our collective vision of nurturing a future characterized by sustainability and resilience. Their unwavering commitment not only strengthens the existing collaboration but also underscores the profound impact that strategic partnerships can have in driving positive change.
Together, we stand poised to make lasting contributions to a greener and more sustainable world.
