75 Years of Independence: IIT Bombay Celebrates Republic Day on Campus

IIT Bombay celebrated the 75th Republic Day on January 26, 2024, with a solemn ceremony at the Gymkhana grounds. Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri, Director, IIT Bombay, proudly unfurled the National Flag, extending heartfelt wishes to the entire community.

During this significant event, Prof. Chaudhuri presented certificates to the winners of an essay competition held during Vigilance Awareness Week 2023. The ceremony also acknowledged the commendable contributions of security officers, staff members, and NCC cadets, highlighting their dedication to the IIT Bombay community.

The celebration took an inspiring turn with the presentation of certificates to students who excelled in the “Words of Change” creative writing competition organized by the Gender Cell. This competition, held under the ‘Elimination of Violence Against Women Pakhwada 2023,’ aimed to amplify voices against injustice.

Adding a cultural flourish to the occasion, students from IIT Bombay, the Aman Day Care Centre, Campus School, and Kendriya Vidyalaya delivered captivating performances. Their diverse talents illuminated the celebration, creating a tapestry of unity and achievement.
