Inauguration of the ‘Class of 1980 Design and Making Lab’
05:30 P.M. onwards onwards
IIT Bombay will inaugurate the ‘Class of 1980 Design and Making Lab’ at its Powai campus. The lab has been set up through the generous contribution of the class of 1980, as part of their legacy project. The legacy batches of IIT Bombay have set up the legacy initiative through which they implement and support critical projects at the Institute.
This state-of-the-art laboratory, comprising the latest digital and mechanical equipment, will be accessible to the Institute’s first-year students, who will learn modern designing and manufacturing practices through a special multi-disciplinary course. The ‘Class of 1980 Design and Making Lab’ forms an integral part of IIT Bombay’s larger Makerspace initiative that envisions transforming the educational experience of students by enabling hands-on learning.
