Donations made via the IIT Bombay Heritage Foundation (IITBHF) , which is a 501(c)(3) organization, are generally tax-deductible under US tax law.  IITBHF’s US Federal Tax ID number is 77-0428724. As per the Indian Income Tax Department’s rules, a donor is required to add their Full Name, Address and PAN number in case they wish to claim tax exemption under Sec 80G.

US and UK residents can donate through IIT BHF and IIT AA UK respectively. Use this link to donate online from the USA. Use this link to donate online from the UK. Alumni from other countries can donate through bank transfer (IMPS/NEFT/RTGS) to IIT Bombay Donation Account. 

Yes, any Individual, Corporates or any other entity can donate to IIT Bombay.

There are various causes for which one can donate to IIT Bombay. Donor receives an immediate acknowledgement and receipt over email for all online donations. In case you have donated through cheque, NEFT transfer or any other offline mode, receipt shall be sent to your email id once the credit is received in IIT Bombay donation account. Please share the donation details (including Name, Address and PAN) to givingback@acr.iitb.ac.in for all offline donations so that the funds can be acknowledged, and receipt can be shared at the earliest.

Donations can be made on a recurring basis every month, instead of making a one-time lump-sum donation. For Recurring donations – the donor can visit the ‘Donate Online’ section on the website and set up a monthly auto-debit instruction. Once this is registered, the amount shall be auto deducted from the registered bank account on a monthly basis. This is a safe and secure RBI approved E-NACH facility offered by all banks for recurring payments. The auto-debit instruction can be disabled at any time. (HOW)

You can establish your legacy or the legacy of your loved ones by sponsoring a room in any IITB hostel of your choice. Your contribution will be acknowledged by establishing a plaque on the room with the donor’s name (or the name of who they choose).
