Prof. Anil Saigal

Prof. Anil Saigal is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Tufts University. He served as the Chair of Mechanical Engineering, Tufts University, during 2002-2007 and as the Director of International Programs, School of Engineering, Tufts University, from 2007 to 2010. He has presented at several national and international conferences, holds two patents, and has more than 175 publications to his credit.

Prof. Anil Saigal has had visiting appointments at MIT, Naval Surface Warfare Center, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, NASA Lewis Research Center, and Argonne National Laboratory. He has organized several symposia and served on National Science Foundation, Air Force and National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Review panels. He currently serves as an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) evaluator and on the Fellows Reviews Committee of ASME. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and a recipient of Erskine Fellow, University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and of Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award, Society of Automobile Engineers. Prof. Saigal is the co-founder of a community Web magazine called ‘Lokvani.com’, which is considered among the best regional Indian community magazines in the United States.

Prof. Anil Saigal was a volunteer at the 2005 Pan-IIT, Washington, D.C., and at the 2008 IIT Bombay Golden Jubilee, New York. He was a co-organizer of FAN 2011, Boston, and has served as Treasurer, Vice President and President of IITSINE, IIT Alumni Association, Boston chapter.
