Mr. Rajiv L. Gupta obtained his B. Tech degree in the year 1967 from the Mechanical Engineering Department. Thereafter he completed his M.S. in Operations Research from Cornell University (1969) and an M.B.A. in Finance from Drexel University (1972).

Mr. Gupta is currently the Chairman & CEO, Rohm & Haas Company. He had joined the company in the year 1971 as a financial analyst and also served as special assistant to the president of the company for a period of two years.

In 1979, Mr. Gupta worked as financial manager of the U.K. subsidiary, then as strategic planning director for the region and finally as assistant manager for the company’s substantial operations in France.

Mr. Gupta was named business manager for Ion Exchange Resigns in Europe in the year 1984 and took on the responsibilities of business unit director for Plastics in Europe in 1987 and later the worldwide business.

Mr. Gupta was elected to the Board of Governors and named Vice Chairman with effect from January 1999. He went on to become Chairman and CEO from October 1999.

Mr. Gupta is also on the board of trustees for the International House. He is a member of the board of Technitrol, Unisys Corporation and the Chemical Manufacturers Association. He is also a member of the Drexel University Advisory Council.
