During his stay at IIT (Hostel 9), Capt. Louis George took part in Inter-Hostel competitions such as Basketball, Hockey, Football and Athletics and represented IIT Bombay in all these except Hockey. He has represented the Services’ Team (Combined Army, Navy and Air Force Team) in the National Basketball Championships at Indore in 1980.At present, he is a qualified ‘A’ Panel Referee of the Basketball Federation of India.

Louis George is now a Capt. in the Indian Navy and is posted as Commanding Officer of No. 1 Maharashtra Naval Unit NCC at Mumbai.

He is a founder-member of the IIT Veterans’ Basketball Team (started in 2005) and has played friendly matches with the IIT Basketball team many times.
