Mr. Sharad Sanghi

Mr. Sharad Sanghi is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NTT Ltd. He obtained his B. Tech. degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 1989 and Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, New York.

As an entrepreneur, Mr. Sanghi has always generated returns for all stakeholders. His passion and commitment to deliver value to clients led him to found a customer-focused IT Infrastructure Services organization called Netmagic in July 1998, which was later acquired by NTT, a Fortune 500 company. At the helm of NTT business in India, Mr. Sanghi oversees three key business entities viz. NTT India Ltd., NTT Com India and NTT Netmagic.

The company has over 6500 employees, 10 high-density and hyperscale data centers and delivers both transformational services elements including managed hybrid infrastructure, and cloud services, as well as its foundational technology solutions and services to over 3000 enterprise customers.

Under Mr. Sanghi’s leadership, NTT- Netmagic became a leader amongst Indian companies in the Public Cloud services market in India and India’s No. 1 Data Center company and leading Managed Hosting and Cloud Service Provider. He also led the company through 3 successful VC funding rounds with Nexus Venture Partners, Fidelity, Cisco Systems and Nokia Growth Partners. Mr. Sanghi led the 2012 acquisition of the company’s majority stake by NTT Communication Japan – a first in the Indian data centre mark.

In his career of over 25 years, Mr. Sanghi has served as the CEO, Global Data Centers and Cloud Infrastructure (India), NTT Ltd; Co-chairman of the Data Center Council of apex associations’ namely the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Associated Chambers of Commerce of India (ASSOCHAM). He is also a board member of NIXI and the APNIC foundation. During his six-year stint in the US, he worked for Unified Network Management Architecture Group at AT&T Bell Labs, the Backbone Engineering Group of NSFNET (ANS) and the Router Systems Development Group of Advantis (IBM Global Network). He has also helped Merrill Lynch and Bankers Trust design and deploy Wide Area Networks.

Mr. Sanghi is felicitated with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Mumbai’s Hall of Fame for Outstanding Entrepreneur Deep Tech. He is also featured on the ‘Top 25 Indian Tech business persons who have completed 25 years of service’ list by Economic Times (ET). He was conferred with the Udyog Rattan Award by Institute of Economic Studies, India (IES) and Co-Chairman of the Data Center Council of apex associations’ namely the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Associated Chambers of Commerce of India (ASSOCHAM).
