Mr. Samir Kumar spent more than 15 years in the Indian IT industry handling sales, marketing and product management activities. He started his working career with Computer Point in 1986, before moving onto Wipro Infotech in 1988 where he spent over 10 years. Mr. Kumar then spent two and a half years with Planetasia (1999-2001).

Mr. Kumar has been an early-stage venture investor in India since 2001. Prior to co-founding Inventus, along with Kanwal Rekhi and John Dougery, Mr. Kumar led the India venture investing team for Acer Technology Ventures, where he made early-stage investments in the technology space.

Mr. Samir Kumar actively participated in the Golden Jubilee event in March 2009 and Goa outreach programme in September 2010. He is an active member of the Bengaluru chapter and has played a major role in setting up the Ittamadu Village Knowledge Centre.

After graduating from IIT Bombay, Mr. Kumar did his MBA from IIM – Bangalore in 1986, where he was awarded the “Best All-Round Outgoing Student.”
