Prof. Ajit Pandurang Rangnekar is the Dean of the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad. Prof. Rangnekar has an impressive career spanning over 30 years in Consulting and Industry across different countries in Asia. He has been a Partner and Country Head at Price Waterhouse Consulting and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Hong Kong.

Prior to his appointment as the Dean in January 2009, he was the Deputy Dean of the ISB. His contributions in helping build a world class business school in India is his way of giving back to the society. He is also credited for building a national level cement distribution model, for the first time in India.

After graduating from IIT Bombay in Chemical Engineering in 1968, Prof. Rangnekar received his Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and started his career with Associated Cements Companies in Mumbai. He then moved to Hong Kong to work with Kishanchand Chellaram Limited and served at various capacities within the organization.

Prof. Rangnekar is a member of the Blue Ribbon Committee of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). He is also a member on Board of Directors of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC);National Mission Authority on Rashtriya Ucchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA); and Governing Body of Hyderabad Eye Research Foundation, L.V. Prasad Eye Institute. He also serves as a management expert on the Appointments Board of the Ministry of Finance; an Independent Director, CEC, SEBI; a Vice Chancellor’s Circle of Advisors for India – University of Cambridge; and as a Director, Board of L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Ltd.

Prof. Rangnekar is a sports enthusiast and enjoys watching and playing cricket, tennis and table tennis. His other passions are reading and music.
