The IIT Bombay Alumni Association (IITBAA), established in 2001, maintains a long-lasting connection between the Institute and its 60000+-member strong alumni base spread across the world. Dedicated volunteers work with the Alumni Association to develop an active alumni network. Whether it’s volunteering, attending events conducted by the Institute or participating in the Institute’s diverse legacy projects – active and involved alums add phenomenal value to IIT Bombay, which in turn helps preserve its position as one of the world’s premier institutes.

The Alumni Association continues to seek innovative ways to serve alumni by providing social, educational and professional opportunities that will appeal to our alums, their peers and extended network.

Vision and Priorities:

• To create a network that fosters/enables strong bonds between our alumni, our current students, and the Institute.
• To update alumni about events and activities.
• To inform and involve alumni about research and innovation projects carried by the Institute.

Just because you have graduated from IITB does not mean that your quest towards learning has ended. These interactions will stoke your curiosity even as it gives you the opportunity to network with industry experts and eminent personalities.

Chapter Events

There are thriving city chapters of IITBAA that organize events both in India and abroad. Interacting with your fellow alums in these events will give you the chance to renew old friendships and network with industry leaders.

How You Can Contribute/ways Of Giving


Student-Alumni Contact:
Support IIT Bombay through different mentoring opportunities like on-campus, in-person or online lectures, provide internships; recruit fresh graduates; present career programs etc.

  • Support A Student: Support education at IIT Bombay through ‘Swadhaar’ – IITBAA’s Student Loan Scholarship Programme for students from economically weaker sections.
  • Support your Hostel: The Hostel Alumni Team Stewardship Programme (HATS), is a unique alumnus driven initiative that facilitates the reconnection with your hostel, old friends and current students of IITB, enables you to support infrastructural improvements in your old hostel, thank old mess workers and support innovative student research projects.
  • Support the Country: by volunteering for the IITBAA Bangalore Chapter’s initiative – Village Knowledge Centre Project (VKC). VKC acts as a nodal centre for knowledge connectivity of villages in and around Bangalore.
