Our key objective is to nurture and strengthen the Institute’s bond with its alumni community, business corporations and philanthropists. These groups are the key stakeholders in IIT Bombay’s journey of excellence. We encourage the involvement and participation of these entities in the Institute’s strategic initiatives. These include setting up world class research and academics in emerging areas of science and technology, building world class infrastructure, improving faculty value proposition, strengthening the entrepreneurship ecosystem, and contributing to the society.

The Alumni Relations team is an intermediary between IIT Bombay and its alumni. The team’s key responsibility is to encourage alumni to remain connected and give back to their alma mater. A dedicated team actively works towards involving our alumni in several important initiatives at the Institute. This includes campus events, reunions, and volunteer programs, amongst others.
The Corporate Relations team connects with socially conscious corporates and encourages them to collaborate with IIT Bombay for societal impact. India’s top corporates and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) heads are regularly updated about the Institute’s path-breaking research in emerging and relevant areas. The corporates are guided by the team on ways they can fulfill their CSR requirements by partnering with IIT Bombay to develop technological solutions that can address wide-ranging national and global challenges.
The Project Management team is an important channel that connects the Institute with its internal (faculty of academic departments and Centres of Excellence) and external (alumni donors) stakeholders. The team is responsible for executing the tasks and producing deliverables outlined in the various research and academic initiatives, involving these groups, that are undertaken by IIT Bombay. The key responsibilities of the project management team includes monitoring the progress of the projects and updating involved parties; coordinating with various groups for smooth execution of the projects, among others.
The Marketing and Communications team plays an instrumental role in building IIT Bombay’s branding. The team’s key responsibility includes leveraging various forms of communication (social media, emails, press releases, etc.) to keep alumni as well as the general public updated about the Institute’s milestones and as its important initiatives and activities. This includes spreading awareness about research breakthroughs; alumni and corporate contributions; student, faculty and alumni achievements and campus events among others.
The IT and Operations team provides strategic and tactical support to enable the activities across the various verticals at the Dean ACR office. The team manages the IT infrastructure, payment backbone, human resources, databases and digital interface with alumni & corporations.

The Legal Department at the IITB DRF epitomizes transparency and ethical conduct and ensures compliance with CSR laws nationally and internationally in its fundraising endeavours for IIT Bombay. The dedicated team meticulously manages donor contributions from various sources including alumni, corporates, HNIs, families, and foundations, ensuring that each contribution is handled with the utmost integrity. They adeptly handle contract negotiations, MoUs, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation, safeguarding the interests of IIT Bombay’s valued donors. With a focus on ethical practices and legal excellence, the team provides comprehensive legal guidance to ensure that donor contributions are utilized effectively and in alignment with the intended objectives.
The Finance Team plays a pivotal role in managing finances, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic initiatives. Their vital contributions are key to achieving the Institute’s objectives which are to foster robust relationships with alumni and corporate partners while ensuring overall success and sustainability.
